Slang Dunk is an editorial guide designed to explore the evolving language of slang and abbreviations across generations, with a focus on improving understanding and fostering connections. Featuring interviews with senior professors and thoughtfully designed graphic elements like a magazine, crossword puzzles, and newsletters, this project aims to make modern slang more accessible and relatable to older generations. The design system incorporates vibrant typography, a cohesive color palette, and symbolic visuals that emphasize clarity and creativity.

Personal / Individual Project, Sep-Dec 2024.
Used Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Figma.

Crossword puzzles serve as an engaging and interactive tool to bridge the generational gap in understanding slang. By gamifying the learning experience, crossword puzzles provide an enjoyable and non-intimidating way for older adults to familiarize themselves with modern slang terms.

The newsletter format with email distribution was chosen to make the project accessible, engaging, and practical for its target audience. Email remains one of the most familiar and widely used digital tools among older adults, making it an ideal medium for delivering content in a non-intimidating way. Unlike apps or social media platforms, which may feel overwhelming or unfamiliar, email provides a straightforward and universally accessible format that fits seamlessly into their daily routines.
